Em-isms

Emma will be 4 years old on March 5th. Something I love about Emma is that she's always positive and upbeat. At least she always tries to be.

On Mondays and Fridays when Jacob is at school and Daddy is at work, we have our 'girl days' which almost always mean that we have to watch a 'scary movie' and eat popcorn. On one of our recent girl days, I pretended to be really scared of the movie she chose, and Emma suggested we pray. She clasped her hands together, closed her eyes, bowed her head, and said "Now, pee after me...." Of course she knows to say 'repeat after me' , but she didn't catch herself. It was very cute.

Yesterday she watched a short story about Black History Month and she excitedly said, "MOMMY, they just said 'if you follow your dreams they'll come true'...Do they mean in real life?!" It was adorable. I had to explain they didn't mean a dream you have while you're sleeping, but a dream you have in your heart. She was really excited to hear she can have whatever she wants if she works hard enough for it.

a quick update

We've been having a great month this February. We did have one not so great day however.... Monday Jacob ran into the house with a very guilty look on his face, but Emma was right behind him, so I assumed everything was alright until the doorbell rang 1/2 a second later. It was a lady from the Bella Vista crime watch. She had picked them up on the very curvy road that they know to never ever go on! (they were about a mile away) She was very upset (as was I) and let me know that she had called the police. A few minutes later, a police car showed up and a very nice officer asked if everything was alright. When I told him it was, he said okay and that was all unless I needed anything else. I asked him to scare the kids for me. (he didn't want to scare them, but i wanted them to be as scared as i was.) He talked to them for a minute and that was it. I made them stay in their rooms for about 6 hours. When everything calmed down a bit I had lots of questions. Jacob told me the reason they left our yard was so they could have an adventure. "We had to go to the gas station to spend my 5 bucks." ........

getting some air

What do you get when you combine bordom, snow, and a bunch of neighbor kids?
A RAMP! (and the possibility of a broken tail bone)

Jacob was very brave.

yard sale...

Jacob called us into his room last night to shop at his yard sale.
We spent $10.....which is great since one of the toys started at $1000!

my old man

Jacob has had 100 days of school this year, and to celebrate, his class dressed up like they were 100 years old. (I had to bribe Jacob with $3 to participate.)
